Les 16 et 17 avril se tiendra le 11e salon international du livre de Monaco au Grimaldi Forum, espace Diaghilev.  A cette occasion, sera présenté le livre commémoratif Les mondes d’un prince. Albert Ier de Monaco et son temps.

A day to commemorate the new hospital established on 9 April 1902 in the Salines district, on the site of the current Princess Grace Hospital.  H.S.H. Prince Albert II will officially open the Albert I Esplanade at the foot of the Maternity Unit.

Spectacle « Un prince humaniste »

Dans le cadre des activités culturelles en milieu scolaire organisé par la DENJS et en partenariat avec le Comité Albert Ier, vendredi prochain 8 avril à 10h au lycée Albert Ier (salle Armand Lunel) aura lieu le spectacle « Un prince humaniste » proposé par la compagnie BAL (dans la continuité de celui proposé au collège l’an dernier sur le prince navigateur).

Albert Ist of Monaco: The Worlds of a Prince

This wonderful book, written by Stéphane Lamotte and published by La Martinière/Abrams, is being released to mark the centenary of Prince Albert I’s death under the auspices of the Commemoration Committee. It features numerous archives, correspondence, speeches, sketches, paintings, photographs and other documents, some of which have not previously been published, providing an insight into the extent of his work. Thanks to Monegasque, French and private collections, this book reconstructs the Prince’s voyages and the geography and history of his era.

Jacqueline Carpine-Lancre (1933–2022) passed away one month ago. In keeping with her personal reticence, which sought to ensure the spotlight remained on her research subject, Prince Albert I’s historian did not want her own death to be marked by any announcements or tributes.

IHO commemorative event From the mapping of the ocean envisaged by Prince Albert I to the Argo programme: how can we improve our understanding of the ocean?The ocean is a vast space including unexplored regions. This lecture will discuss the changes that have taken place in oceanography since Prince Albert I’s expeditions and the GEBCO chart series through to current projects, including the floats deployed as part of Argo, an exciting, multidisciplinary international project.
