From 16 July to 11 September 2022, the exhibition room of the Quai Antoine I in Monaco will host an exhibition titled: “The Prince and the Painter. Albert I and Louis Tinayre: A Friendship Discovering the World”. It will present the work of Tinayre, which remains little known, showcasing in particular the drawings and paintings he produced for Prince Albert I. A graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Budapest, Louis Tinayre became a newspaper illustrator for “Le Monde”. His drawings, dioramas and panoramas were exhibited at the universal exposition in Paris in 1900. Prince Albert I liked his work and asked him to accompany him on his scientific and hunting expeditions from 1904 onwards.
