Yesterday, as part of Classic Week, we attended the opening of the exhibition “Powerboat meetings during Albert I’s era”.
This fantastic exhibition, which has been organised in partnership with the Albert I Committee and is coordinated by Caroline Magro, Heritage Manager at the Yacht Club, presents some beautifully restored items (trophies, drawings, medals, posters, programmes) showcased in a stunningly well-designed exhibition space. It is the result of some productive collaboration ahead of the exhibition with teams from the Media Library (Béatrice Novaretti, Dominique Bon) and a fruitful partnership with teams at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology (Elena Rossoni-Notter), who contributed their expertise in restoration. This is a great example of synergy and is the perfect start to the programme of centenary events, reflecting another nautical event on the shores of the Baltic that celebrates Prince Albert I’s humanist work. Not to be missed – but hurry! The exhibition only runs until Sunday.
